How payment works

AirJIT is designed so strangers can move a physical parcel without sending money as a blind peer-to-peer transfer. When a booking is confirmed, the shipper’s payment is held. It is released after delivery is confirmed. Settlement amounts are denominated in J1USD.

The hold-and-release loop

1. Shipper and traveler (and Host, if used) agree the booking in the app.
2. The shipper’s payment is locked against that shipment.
3. Handoffs are photographed and statuses update as the trip progresses.
4. The recipient confirms delivery — or a Host confirms a defined local step.
5. Held J1USD is released: traveler earnings, optional Host share, and platform fees.

What you are paying for

• Traveler compensation for unused luggage kg on a trip they already take
• Optional Host handling, storage, or last-mile in a city corridor
• Optional doorstep pickup or drop-off when offered on the listing
• Platform fees that depend on route, weight, urgency, and services — not a single global rate card

Why J1USD, not JIT

JIT’s market price can move. Logistics invoices should not reprice mid-flight because a utility token moved. J1USD is AirJIT’s USD-referenced settlement token: a stable unit of account for holds, payouts, and fees. The March 2025 whitepaper described this dual-asset split (security versus settlement). Live product settlement uses J1USD with 6 decimals on BNB Smart Chain.

Disputes and incomplete trips

If a flight is cancelled, a parcel is refused at inspection, or delivery is contested, keep evidence in the in-app thread: photos, timestamps, and messages. Held funds are not released as a completed payout until the shipment reaches a confirmed or resolved state. See Disputes and safety for the process.
