USDC is a widely used USD-referenced token from an external issuer. J1USD is AirJIT’s own BEP-20 settlement token. Sharing a USD reference does not make them fungible. A wallet that holds USDC does not automatically hold J1USD.

Product versus market
Inside AirJIT, the invoice is J1USD. On the open market, J1USD/USDC is how observers read a dollar-like price. That split is deliberate: settlement accounting should not depend on a third-party stablecoin remaining the only accepted gas-in for every Host and traveler.
Risks are not interchangeable
USDC has issuer, reserve, and regulatory risks defined by that issuer. J1USD has AirJIT admin, upgrade, issuance, liquidity, and depeg risks defined by the J1USD contracts and markets. Holding one does not hedge the other one-for-one.
FAQ
- Is J1USD the same as USDC?
- No. J1USD is AirJIT’s settlement token. USDC is issued by a different organization. They have different contracts, controls, and decimals on BNB Smart Chain.
- Why does AirJIT use J1USD if USDC exists?
- Shipment holds, traveler payouts, and Host fees are denominated in J1USD so AirJIT settlement, roles, and product accounting stay native to the network. USDC is the public reference market, not the invoice token.
- Can I pay a shipment in USDC?
- Commercial settlement inside AirJIT is J1USD. You may swap USDC → J1USD on the designated market, then fund the hold.
