J1USD

J1USD risks

J1USD token risks: smart contract and UUPS upgrade risk, admin controls, depeg and liquidity, no public fiat redemption, wallet mistakes, and market risk.

Holding or transacting J1USD is not risk-free. Read this before you size a balance for shipments or treasury. Nothing here is investment advice.

Contract and upgrade risk

J1USD is a UUPS upgradeable BEP-20. Bugs in current or future implementations, or a compromised upgrader, can affect all J1USD holders. The official proxy stays the same; logic may not.

Administrative and compliance controls

  • Mint and burn under roles, limited by a supply ceiling
  • Pause
  • Blacklist / account freeze / partial freeze capabilities in the token design
  • Frozen-balance wipe as a compliance-oriented control in the design

These controls can protect the network in an incident. They also mean a J1USD balance is not an uncensorable bearer instrument in the same sense as a token with no admin keys.

Market, liquidity, and depeg risk

J1USD can trade away from $1, especially on thin books. J1USD/USDC is the reference market, not an infinite bid. Slippage on large swaps can be severe.

No public retail fiat redemption

AirJIT does not advertise a public 1:1 cash window. If off-ramps, banks, or counterparties refuse J1USD, you may only be able to exit through crypto markets — or not at the price you expect.

Oracle and issuance operational risk

Issuance references and adapters (see contracts on airjit.com) can fail, lag, or be misconfigured. That can delay mint/burn responses when the J1USD price moves.

Wallet and user risk

  • Wrong decimals (J1USD is 6, not 18)
  • Fake J1USD contracts
  • Sending to implementation or vault by mistake
  • Phishing sites that clone airjit.com or help.airjit.com
  • Paying travelers outside the J1USD hold

FAQ

Can AirJIT mint more J1USD?
Yes. Minting is role-controlled and bounded by an on-chain supply ceiling. That is an administrative power.
Can J1USD be paused, frozen, or blacklisted?
The J1USD token design includes role-controlled pause and compliance controls (including freeze/blacklist-style restrictions). Those powers exist to manage incidents and compliance; they are also holder risk.
Is J1USD upgradeable?
Yes. UUPS proxy 0xb3B34F032923DeA2ee8476Df26894E8fA9Eb7F54. Implementation can change under authorized upgrade.
What is the biggest user operational risk?
Sending J1USD to a fake contract, the implementation address, or the wrong chain — or importing 18 decimals and then “fixing” it by sending tokens to a scammer.
Does J1USD have smart-contract risk?
Yes. All on-chain tokens can contain bugs. Upgradeability changes the surface over time. Size balances accordingly.
