Host deposits and JIT

Hosts lock a JIT security deposit to open a corridor. Learn why JIT is used, how the on-chain hold works, and why Host fees settle in J1USD.

6 min read · English

Opening a corridor requires skin in the game. Hosts post a security deposit held in a smart contract. Program materials specify USD 10,000 in JIT. Performance, top-ups, and termination are defined in the Host agreement — not as a public APY product.

Why the deposit is JIT

JIT is AirJIT’s utility and security token. Hosts are a governance-aligned operator class: they densify the network and can face economic consequences if they mishandle parcels. Locking JIT ties corridor rights to the same asset used for staking and Host-related governance allocation (10% of original minted JIT is labeled Governance (Hosts) in tokenomics).

Why fees are still J1USD

A deposit should create accountability. An invoice should stay readable. If Host commissions were paid in JIT, every parcel would inherit JIT price risk. Dual-asset design keeps commercial amounts in J1USD and cryptoeconomic bond in JIT.

Practical steps

  1. Use only official JIT: 0x514D1A3576dB4b10F3bE4acC78c4fE103fF18F68 on BNB Smart Chain (18 decimals).
  2. Never send the deposit to a random chat address. The Host agreement and portal name the hold contract.
  3. Keep a small BNB balance for network fees when you move JIT.
  4. Treat the deposit as locked operating collateral, not as a liquid trading position.

Node registration, partner escrow, and settlement vaults are published on airjit.com/contracts. Copy addresses from there. This help article explains the operating meaning: JIT bond to open a corridor, J1USD to settle the work.

FAQ

What token is the Host deposit in?
JIT. Program materials specify a USD 10,000 equivalent security deposit held in a smart contract. Exact amount and mechanics are in the Host agreement.
Are Host earnings also in JIT?
No. Parcel settlement and Host commissions are in J1USD. JIT is the deposit and governance asset; J1USD is the invoice currency.
