Overview of Cash on Delivery​

Cash on Delivery (COD) is a payment method where the recipient pays for the parcel in cash upon delivery. This option adds flexibility for the shipper and traveler, ensuring that the traveler receives payment directly.

Steps to Use Cash on Delivery​

  1. Agreement: Both the traveler and shipper must agree to use the Cash on Delivery option. This should be documented in the AirJIT messaging system.
  2. Delivery Confirmation: Upon delivering the parcel, the traveler collects the cash payment from the recipient.
  3. Update Payment Status: The traveler updates the payment status in the AirJIT system to reflect that the payment was received in cash.
  4. Return Escrowed Amount: AirJIT will return the escrowed amount back to the shipper's wallet once the delivery and cash payment are confirmed.

Ensuring Secure Transactions​

  1. Verification:

    • Verify the recipient's identity before handing over the parcel
    • Ensure you are delivering to the correct person

  2. Count Cash:

    • Count the cash payment in the presence of the recipient
    • Ensure the correct amount is received

  3. Receipt:

    • Provide a receipt to the recipient if requested
    • Document the transaction

Handling Issues with Cash on Delivery​

  1. Discrepancies in Payment:

    • If there is a discrepancy in the amount received, immediately contact the shipper through the AirJIT messaging system to resolve the issue

  2. Non-Payment:

    • If the recipient refuses to pay in cash, update the status in AirJIT while delivering parcel
    • The escrowed amount will be transferred to the traveler
    • Note: AirJIT cannot force the shipper or their recipient to pay cash on delivery; it is at the sole discretion of the recipient

  3. Document Issues:

    • Document any issues encountered during the delivery
    • Include photos and a detailed description
    • Submit this information to AirJIT for further assistance
  1. Log In: Access your AirJIT account
  2. Navigate to Travel: Go to the "Travel" section
  3. Select the Trip: Choose the specific trip that includes Cash on Delivery parcels
  4. Find Booked Shipments: Locate the "Booked Shipments" section
  5. Select a Shipment: Tap on the shipment marked for Cash on Delivery
  6. Confirm Delivery: Upon delivering the parcel, update the status to reflect that the delivery is complete and the cash payment has been received
  7. Update Payment Status: Ensure the payment status is updated to show that the payment was received in cash

By following these steps and guidelines, travelers can securely manage Cash on Delivery transactions, ensuring they receive payments promptly and accurately for their services on AirJIT.
