Understanding Penalties for Cancellations​

Cancellations, whether before or after collection, can significantly impact your earnings. It's important to understand the penalties associated with these cancellations to manage your earnings effectively.

Impact on Earnings​

Cancellation Before Collection​

  • Within Grace Period:

    • If you cancel a shipment up to 24 hours before departure
    • No penalty applies
    • No impact on your earnings

  • After Grace Period:

    • Cancelling less than 24 hours before departure
    • Incurs a penalty of half your potential earnings from that shipment
    • If the cancellation is due to the shipper, you will still receive half of the potential earnings

Cancellation After Collection​

  • Valid Reason:

    • If you return a shipment for a valid reason
    • No penalty applies
    • You will not receive any earnings for that shipment

  • No Valid Reason:

    • If you return a shipment without a valid reason
    • You will bear the full cost of the parcel, including AirJIT fees and additional charges
    • You will not receive any earnings

  • Cancellation by Shipper:

    • If less than 24 hours before departure: receive half of your potential earnings
    • If after collection and without a valid reason: receive full potential earnings

Managing and Minimizing Cancellations​

To minimize cancellations and protect your earnings:

  1. Review Shipments Carefully:

    • Assess each shipment's details before confirming
    • Ensure you can carry it without issues

  2. Communicate with Shippers:

    • Maintain clear communication
    • Address potential problems early

  3. Plan Ahead:

    • Avoid last-minute changes
    • Plan your travel and shipment management in advance

Initiating Cancellations​

To cancel a shipment:

  1. Navigate to Booked Shipments: Go to the "Booked Shipments" section in your trip details
  2. Select the Shipment: Tap on the shipment you wish to cancel
  3. Cancellation Button: At the very bottom of the parcel details, tap the "Cancel" button to initiate the cancellation process

By understanding how cancellations impact your earnings and taking steps to minimize them, you can maintain a steady income and ensure smooth operations on AirJIT.
