Overview of Payment Processing

On AirJIT, payments are processed seamlessly to ensure that all transactions related to your shipment are handled efficiently. When you list a shipment, the shipping cost, including any additional charges and AirJIT fees, is deducted from your wallet and held in escrow. This process ensures that the traveler is compensated once the parcel is successfully delivered.

Steps to Track Your Payments

You can easily track all payments related to your shipments through the AirJIT platform. Here's how you can monitor your transactions:

  1. Log In: Access your AirJIT account.

  2. Navigate to Wallet: Go to the "Wallet" section to see your total balance and transaction history.

  3. Select Transactions: Tap on the "Transactions" tab to view detailed information about each shipment, including deductions for shipping costs, additional charges, and AirJIT fees.

  4. View Payment Breakdown: Tap on specific transactions to see a breakdown of all costs, including the base shipping fee, any extra charges (e.g., customs duties), and the AirJIT fee.

Understanding Fees and Deductions

Several fees and deductions are associated with shipping on AirJIT:

  • Base Shipping Fee: This is the primary cost for transporting your parcel, calculated based on factors like distance, weight, and route complexity.

  • Additional Charges: These include any extra costs that may arise, such as custom duties or special handling fees. These are agreed upon and documented in the AirJIT messaging system.

  • AirJIT Fees: AirJIT charges a fee of $5 or 10% of the total shipping cost, whichever is higher. This fee covers the platform's operational costs, ensuring smooth and secure transactions.

  • Sales Tax/VAT: Depending on your location, sales tax or VAT may be applied to AirJIT's fees. This tax is added on top of the 10% fee and varies by jurisdiction.

Example Calculation:

  • Base Shipping Fee: $50
  • Additional Charges: $10
  • AirJIT's 10% Fee: $60 x 0.10 = $6 (Since $6 is higher than the minimum $5 fee, this is the applicable fee)
  • Sales Tax/VAT (e.g., 8%): $6 x 0.08 = $0.48
  • Total Fee with Sales Tax/VAT: $6 + $0.48 = $6.48

Ensuring Sufficient Funds in Your Wallet

To avoid any disruptions in processing your shipments, it's crucial to ensure that your AirJIT wallet has sufficient funds when listing a parcel. If your wallet balance is low, you will be prompted to add funds before completing your shipment listing.

  • Automatic Deductions: Upon listing a parcel, the total shipping cost (including additional charges and AirJIT fees) will be deducted from your wallet and held in escrow until the shipment is completed.

  • Replenishing Your Wallet: If your balance falls below the required amount, you can quickly add funds through the "Wallet" section to cover upcoming shipments.

By understanding how payments are processed on AirJIT and keeping track of all fees and deductions, you can manage your shipping costs effectively and ensure that your parcels are delivered without any issues.
