Introduction to Dispute Resolution Fees

Dispute resolution fees are charges incurred when a disagreement arises between the shipper and the traveler, requiring AirJIT's intervention to resolve. These fees cover the administrative costs involved in handling disputes to ensure a fair and efficient resolution for all parties involved.

When Dispute Resolution Fees Apply

Dispute resolution fees apply in the following situations:

  • Unresolved Claims: If you submit a claim and the traveler does not respond within 24 hours or denies the claim, it automatically turns into a dispute, prompting AirJIT to step in.

  • Payment Disputes: Issues regarding payment discrepancies, such as incorrect amounts charged or disputes over additional fees claimed by the traveler.

  • Parcel Condition Disputes: Disagreements about the condition of the parcel upon collection or delivery, including damages or missing items.

  • Service Disputes: Disputes related to the quality, timeliness, or completion of the services provided by the traveler.

Amount and Calculation of Dispute Resolution Fees

  • Flat Fee: AirJIT charges a flat fee of $10 for dispute resolution, which is deducted from the amount held in escrow if the dispute is resolved against you.

  • Claim Amount: In addition to the dispute resolution fee, if you are found at fault, you will be responsible for the claim amount. For example, if the claim is $50 and the dispute is resolved against you, the $50 claim plus the $10 fee will be deducted from your escrowed amount.

Steps to Minimize Dispute Resolution Costs

  • Clear Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with the traveler to prevent misunderstandings. Clarify all expectations, delivery details, and responsibilities upfront.

  • Document Everything: Keep thorough records of all transactions, communications, and any issues that arise. This includes uploading clear photos of the parcel when listing it, and documenting its condition upon collection and delivery.

  • Resolve Issues Early: Attempt to resolve any potential disputes directly with the traveler before they escalate to the point of requiring AirJIT's intervention. This can save both time and money.

By understanding dispute resolution fees and taking proactive steps to minimize disputes, shippers can manage their shipping costs effectively and ensure smooth transactions on AirJIT.
