Overview of Cancellation Policies
When using AirJIT, there may be situations where you need to cancel a shipment. It's important to understand the cancellation policies, associated fees, and the impact on your overall shipping costs. This article covers the different scenarios for cancelling a shipment and the fees involved, whether the cancellation occurs before or after the parcel has been collected by the traveler.
Free Cancellation Period
You can cancel a shipment free of charge up to 24 hours before the traveler's scheduled departure. This period allows you to adjust your shipping plans without incurring any penalties. During this time, you can cancel the shipment for any reason, and the full amount paid will be refunded to your AirJIT wallet.
Cancellation Fees After the Free Period
If you cancel a shipment less than 24 hours before the traveler's departure, you will incur a cancellation fee. This fee is typically 50% of the total shipping cost. The remaining 50% will be refunded to your AirJIT wallet. This policy helps compensate travelers for the inconvenience caused by last-minute cancellations.
After the traveler has collected the parcel, cancellations are generally not permitted. If you need to cancel after collection, the parcel will be treated as a return, and different fees and policies will apply. These may include covering the cost of returning the parcel to the sender, and you may forfeit any refund depending on the situation.
Cancellation by the Traveler
In some cases, the traveler may need to cancel their trip, which directly affects your shipment. If the traveler cancels before collecting your parcel, you will not be charged any fees, and your shipment will be automatically re-listed for another traveler to pick up. If the cancellation happens after the traveler has collected the parcel, AirJIT will arrange for the parcel to be transferred to another traveler, or returned to you, depending on the circumstances. You may be refunded, or the shipping fees may be adjusted based on the situation.
How to Cancel a Shipment
To cancel a shipment, follow these steps:

Log In: Access your AirJIT account.

Navigate to Parcels: Go to the "Parcels" tab.

Select Shipment: Choose the specific shipment you want to cancel.

Initiate Cancellation: Scroll to the bottom of the shipment details and tap the "Cancel Shipment" button.

Confirm: Review the cancellation details, including any applicable fees, and confirm your cancellation.
