Understanding Multi-Traveler Shipments

When shipping a parcel over long distances or through less popular routes, it might be necessary for multiple travelers to carry your parcel across different legs of the journey. This allows for more flexible and efficient delivery, even to remote locations.

How Multiple Travelers Are Assigned

AirJIT automatically assigns travelers based on the route and availability. After your parcel is matched with the first traveler, it will continue its journey through subsequent travelers as needed. As a shipper, your involvement is minimal after the initial dispatch, with AirJIT handling all intermediary transfers and ensuring your parcel reaches its destination.

Tracking Parcels Across Multiple Travelers

To track your parcel across different travelers, go to the "Parcels" tab, select your shipment, and switch to the "Tracking" segment. This view provides real-time updates on your parcel's location, as well as a detailed history of each leg of its journey. You'll see which traveler is currently handling your parcel and where it is headed next.

Communication Best Practices

In the "Messages" tab for your parcel, you can view all communication between the travelers handling your shipment. This includes updates on transfers, potential delays, and any issues that may arise. While you don't need to take any action during these transitions, monitoring the conversation helps you stay informed. If you notice any unusual activity or concerns, you can report them directly to AirJIT. An AirJIT representative may also join the chat if necessary to assist with any issues.

Managing Potential Delays

While AirJIT travelers handle most of the logistics, delays or changes in plans can occur. If a traveler's schedule changes or their flight is canceled, AirJIT will automatically reassign your parcel to another traveler to minimize delays. You don't need to take any additional steps, but you'll be kept informed through the tracking and messaging features. Should you encounter any significant issues, reporting them via the messaging system will ensure prompt support from AirJIT.

By understanding how multiple travelers manage your shipment, you can confidently ship parcels over complex routes while relying on AirJIT's automated systems to ensure smooth delivery.
