Penalties for Cancellations

When you cancel a shipment on AirJIT, it's important to understand how it affects your shipping costs. Depending on the timing of the cancellation, penalties may apply:

  • More Than 24 Hours Before Departure: You can cancel your shipment without any penalty if done more than 24 hours before the traveler's departure. This allows flexibility if plans change.

  • Less Than 24 Hours Before Departure: If you cancel within 24 hours of the traveler's departure, a penalty is applied. This typically results in losing a portion of the shipping fee you've paid. The penalty compensates the traveler for any inconvenience caused by the late cancellation.

  • After Dispatch: If the shipment has already been handed over to the traveler, cancelling it might mean forfeiting the entire shipping cost, depending on the situation.

Effect on Shipping Costs and Refunds

Cancellations can have different effects on your shipping costs:

  • Full Refund: Canceling more than 24 hours before the traveler's departure usually entitles you to a full refund, minus any service fees.

  • Partial Refund: Cancelling less than 24 hours before departure often results in a partial refund. Typically, half of the shipping cost is refunded, while the other half is retained as a penalty.

  • No Refund: If the cancellation occurs after the traveler has received your parcel, you may not be eligible for a refund unless there are exceptional circumstances, such as a significant service issue with the traveler.

Tips to Minimize Cancellations

To avoid unnecessary cancellations and the resulting penalties:

  1. Plan Carefully: Ensure that all details, such as destination, weight, and dispatch date, are correct before listing your parcel.

  2. Early Communication: If you anticipate any issues, communicate with the traveler as early as possible to resolve them without needing to cancel.

  3. Traveler Review: Before finalizing a booking, review the traveler's schedule and profile to ensure they are the right fit for your shipment.
