Confirming Your Booking
Once AirJIT automatically matches your parcel with a traveler, it's important to confirm the booking to ensure the shipment proceeds smoothly. Your parcel's status will change from "Booking" to "Dispatching," indicating that the traveler has been successfully assigned to carry your parcel.
To confirm the booking:
- Go to the "Parcels" Tab: Log in to your AirJIT account and navigate to the "Parcels" tab.
- Select Your Parcel: Find and select the parcel that has been booked.
- Review the Matched Traveler: Check the traveler details, including their departure schedule, destination, and any specific instructions they might have provided.
If everything looks good, there's no further action needed. The system will consider your booking confirmed automatically if no changes or cancellations are made.
Reviewing Travel Details
Before you proceed, it's essential to carefully review all the travel details associated with the matched traveler. This includes: • Departure and Arrival Cities: Ensure the cities match your shipment's requirements. • Flight Schedule: Verify that the traveler's schedule aligns with your expected delivery timeframe. • Traveler's Profile: Check the traveler's profile, including their reviews and ratings from previous shipments, to assess reliability.
If you notice any discrepancies or if the schedule doesn't fit your needs, consider unmatching the parcel and allowing AirJIT to find another traveler.
Initiating Communication
Once your booking is confirmed, it's crucial to initiate communication with the traveler. Open lines of communication help ensure a smooth handoff and address any potential issues early on.
To start communicating:
- Go to the Parcel Details: Open the details of the booked parcel.
- Select the "Messages" Tab: Navigate to the "Messages" segment at the top of the screen.
- Introduce Yourself: Send a brief introductory message to the traveler, confirming the booking and outlining any specific instructions for the handoff or delivery.
Maintaining Clear Communication
Effective communication throughout the shipping process is key to ensuring the success of your parcel's journey. Keep the following in mind: • Confirm Dispatch Plans: Discuss and agree on the exact time and location for dispatching the parcel. • Provide Necessary Information: Share any relevant details the traveler needs, such as special handling instructions or the PIN code for verification. • Stay Available: Be responsive to messages from the traveler, especially as the departure time approaches.
By maintaining clear and timely communication, you help ensure that your parcel is handled correctly and delivered on time. This proactive approach also builds trust between you and the traveler, making the shipping experience smoother for both parties.
